Post subject: New Business Issues
|
 |
I've been researching a new business for about a month. I've obtained a quote for liability and bonding, researched equipment and expenses, and the competition. I know that
neither bonding nor liability will cover me for crime and fidelity so I am considering that insurance too. I will not have any employees.
I don't have a business yet. The liability insurance forms and bond are made out to "dba kelly s...." I have to have the EIN so the income doesn't go to my social security
number. I will pay myself a salary. Can I do that?
I reviewed the EIN application form and I don't know if I should I do Sole Proprietor or Personal Service?
The business is not regulated and does not require any licenses. It's basically a photography business.
Can I get a EIN (federal tax ID) without an actual business. Can I register the EIN as "dba, etc."?
Thanks in advance for your help and support. I welcome constructive replies.
